About Mrs. Simonds

I am a "seasoned" student/educator...that means I have spent my entire life, from first grade on, in a classroom.  I have been a student or a teacher for more years than one can imagine and I plan to be here a few more years.
I graduated from Oney High School (now Binger-Oney, but who counts the Binger???) in 1980 and attended The University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma (USAO) in Chickasha for 2 Trimesters.   The summer of 1981 I transfered to Southwestern Oklahoma State University (SWOSU) in Weatherford and received my BS in Business Education in 1984.  I continued my education and in 1990 I received my MS in Education (Elementary Conversion).
During all of this education I did have a life.  This life included my son, Bobby, who was born June of 1985 and MaeLee, daughter, born May of 1991.  Bobby graduated from Geary High school and MaeLee graduated from Norman North.
In 2002 I married and moved to Norman.  My husand, Chuck, is an IT professional at JCI and my son, Brian, graduated from Norman High in 2010.
I will be/am a gammy to AmberLynn.  She is the love of my life.  I also am a gammy to Big Scooter, Molly, Lil' Scooter and Romo.
I also drive a school bus for activities and usually hold down a part time job.  Right now my part time job is helping my Brother and Sister-in-laws with their real estate business.  I also love to cross stitch, play with my grand-daughter and spoil my kids (puppies).
I saw the quote "Life isn’t about how many breathes you take but about the moments that take your breathe away." -Author unknown, and I am truly blessed because I have had many moments that took my breathe away.  I would encourage everyone to live their life so that they are not just breathing but doing everything in their power to make memorable moments that count.
I am excited about every day that has the potential to be the best day of our lives.  Let's ROCK Warriors.
